Hi All,

I'm really stuck with this problem which I am fixing for a blind friend
of mine.

We have a PC with IE6 installed on it and with the operating system
being windows 2000.

It works pretty normally when it comes to accessing different web
addresses but it refuses to access just a few sites for no apparent
reason. There is nothing wrong with the sites which his computer will
not access via IE6 as I have been able to get to them with mine and but
on his each time we type in the address we want to go too of one of
these sites the google search engine comes up instead. Now the strange
thing is that if we go to the start menu and the "run" option in there
we can access the sites which can't be got at from within IE. Also we
can make a shortcut on the desktop to the sites and again we can access
them but not from within the browser itself.

I am puzzled by this, can anyone throw some light on it for me please.

Many thanks for any help,

Paul Traynor.
