I quit using WinZip when they discontinued the "For Life" upgrade and wanted
more money, version 9 or 10 I think. Was one of my first shareware purchases
13 years ago or so. Now I use Win Rar with Vista 64 bit with no problems.

The first time I see VISTA mentioned is in the version history
http://www.winzip.com/version.htm is v.11
However, you might write and ask [log in to unmask] , The WinZip folks are
absolutely great about helping with questions. The new WinZip Pro 11.2 has
got some great stuff in it - well worth springing for it, in my opinion. If
it's an upgrade (if you have any version already), then you get a great
deal. http://www.winzip.com/index.htm

This is my number one software program - I've been using it since 2002 and I
wouldn't be without it. I use it to keep my financial and identity folders
zipped and encrypted with 256 bit AES encryption. Anything that matters on
my PC is encrypted with WinZip, so I don't have to encrypt my backups. A
nice trick is to keep a NUMBERED list of your passwords offline, and use the
WinZip file comments (which are never encrypted) to reference the password
by number ( eg "p7") which is password #7 on your list. You never have to
forget a password with a comment attached to the file, yet it means nothing
to anyone else. Even if someone breaks into my PC, they get nothing
valuble.

Does anyone know if WinZip 9.0 SR-1 (6224) will work in Vista?
There are some configuration options I might not try,
but will it work "at all"?
Please state if personal "opinion" or "experience". (Both welcome.)
