Shaleen:
I found the same thing and installed, one from Cnet, that short cut on my
machine ( win98se, IE&OE6.0) with no ill side effects, and use it all the
time. I like it.
As you know, no guarantee you will have the same results.

Hello Listers,
I am re-posting this question since I received no reply the first time.
Maybe it was missed.
At Cnet Help.com , I found a slightly different 'shutdown' shortcut for
Windows95/98 systems:
<<C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE User, ExitWindows>>
Would this be equivalent to <<C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe, exitwindows>>
which was posted by Linda earlier.
I would like some feedback on the former shortcut rather than attempt a
trial-and-error. I don't feel especially adventurous about these things.
I use Windows 95 (4.00.950 B), Internet Explorer 5.0 (5.00.2014.0216),
Outlook Express 5.0, dial-up Internet connectivity.

Here is what I do. Right click on destop. Click new and then =
"shortcut".
Then type this:
<<C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe,exitwindows>>
I named it Shutdown. And it certainly does that.
