Greetings all;
My parents have a Kodak EasyShare CX7430. In movie mode it can only record in .mov format. The files play properly in Quicktime, and the camera can output to a television properly in review mode. When I took a .mov file to my friend's computer and used his WinAvi Video Converter Standard Edition (Version 5.8, OS XP sp2, AMD 2600+, 512 RAM) software the program displayed the following error message;
"No usable audio stream, which may lead the converter to be unable to work exactly"
It then asked me to click on "Yes, No, Cancel." I tried several different .mov files with the same results.
No matter what conversion, settings or options I try, I either get a Windows error message (with the offer to send in an error report) or the video conversion takes place with the result being poorer video than the original .mov and no sound at all. He has not tried this type of conversion before, but has been able to do what he wanted with WinAvi in the past. My searches on the net have been fruitless.
Is there software better suited for .mov conversion or does someone have a solution to my problem? My goal is to create DVDs that my parents can use on their DVD player. Thank you.
Bill
