Alex,

When your create a file from inside the Windows 9x environment, it
automatically gets two names.  The long filename AND a short version for use
by DOS.  Both of these names are recorded and stored automatically.  When
you view the directory list in DOS you will see short file names.  When you
view the directory in Windows you will see long file names.  Even if you
delete/uninstall Windows, the filenames will not be changed.

You will only have a problem with files created inside the DOS environment.
They will only have one name -- the short one.
