In addition to what Mike says, for most e-mails you do not want to
be able to open attachments too quickly, or by accident.
Here is what I do instead...
I set the email program to not allow me to open (or save) certain attachments...
Then I put in the proper e-mail security patches that do not allow me either...

Then, when I see an attachment I want to open, I simply hit "Forward" and open
it in the message composition window somewhat easily by answering a couple
security related questions... (Confirmations.)
Never found a attachment I wanted to open that I could not...

After you open the attachment and/or save it to your hard drive, you need
to cancel the "Forward" since that was just a "work-around" location to
allow all the above to bypass/override the security features...

In Outlook Express go to Tools/Options/Security and under Virus Protection uncheck the box that says "Do not allow
attachments.......etc". You might want to go back and recheck that box after opening this current email so as to re-establish the
protection.

When I get e-mail that has a paper clip on it, I cannot open it. I am using outlook express. I click on the paper clip but will not
open it and have had a few others that will not open. Some will work. Is there a thing I have to get into to correct this problem?
Any advice you give would be greatly appreciated.
