There are programs available like FakeCD that fake the program into
thinking it is running off a CD Rom drive.
You could also try the SUBST command. The SUBST command is very similiar
to a mapping command. It will substitute a drive letter for a directory on
your PC
For example SUBST f: c:\freddifish
would make a Drive F: that would actually be c:\freddifish
I tried this in a library as well when I was doing some freelance work a
while back. I seem to remember Freddi Fish being a problem as well as a
slew of Broderbund games. They were running them from a CD tower and
running out of drive letters. I seem to remember something about the
programs not working unless the media name was the same. If so you may be
Out of luck.
As far as a list, I would have no idea though you might want to check the
LIBNT list (Library installations of Windows NT)
Any more questions, please e-mail
>I would like to load our CD-ROM games completely onto the hard drive and

>Some software is quite happy to do this. e.g. Sim Town, Hoyle's Board

>So to cut to the chase.
