Myra & Anne,

I don't have any personal experience with using AOL (and won't) but this is
a method you can use to set up Outlook Express to send/receive e-mail. I did
this for some friends and relatives with older versions of AOL and it
worked. I'm not sure about the newer versions but I see no reason why it
wouldn't work with them too.

First, sign up for a free POP3 e-mail account. Conduct a search at Google
for POP3 e-mail. Most, if not all, have instructions for setting up the
account in Outlook Express and other e-mail clients. (POP3 is an e-mail
standard used to retrieve messages from a mail server; AOL & CompuServe use
a proprietary mail retrieval system that is not POP3 compliant.) Once you've
signed on to the Net using AOL/CS, you can open Outlook Express to send and
receive mail from your new POP3 e-mail address.

For your information: Want to keep your AOL screen name or just use a POP3
e-mail program with AOL mail??? eNetB (www.enetbot.com, free to try, $19.95
to buy) can help. This program lets you send and receive AOL mail from any
POP3 e-mail program.

I notice your ISP is AOL. I use it (aol broadband cable, via local
roadrunner
Time Warmer Cable) , and was told by techie that aol will not work with OE,
only with it's own email. I have been able to receive mail that downloaded
automatically to OE, but was unable to forward same from OE or send
anything. I do
not have a hotmail address. The message I receive has to do with SMTP or
something like that. If there is a solution, I would be interested too.
