this is interesting.... is it possible to know "by whom" and "for whom" it is reserved?

There was a LONG list of reserved filenames in Windows9x - there are probably a lot just "left over" that no one bothered to clean up.    I think the "con" one was for "console" the mainframe term for the primary monitor.    --AnnaSummers
