Jun,
Try double clicking on the area to the right of File, Options, View, Help. I
just looked at Task Mgr. on my XP machine and tired this. Double clicking on
a "normal" Task screen produces the effect that you describe. I recall this
also from this list as well.
Good luck.

OS: win2k
No recent changes on hardware or software.
The problem: I discovered that my task manager no longer works as usual, the
title bar just dispeared, and all I get is a white box with listed running
program and three buttons at buttom (end task, switch to, and new task).

I don't know when this problems began, since I haven't checked with my task
manager for few weeks, and so far, not any hardware or software ever
changed. I only realize the problem few days ago (I wanted to compare CPU
usage between few software).

Everything else works absolutly fine as I checked (run benchmark over night,
played games on LAN for hours, ...) and everything is rock stable, no sign
of hardware failur, only task manager refused to work.

Any idea what went wrong?

I remember same question was asked here before, but couldn't remember the
solution. I'm not serious worry about it, if there is no easy way to fix it
(I can always use Performance monitor if I need to).

A last bit info, my PC is shared, but only I have the admin account, other
accounts are in Power users and rarely used (need in at least Power users,
in order to get ZA working all the time, and other persons only use Word or
check email).

Thanks for any help.

Jun Qian

PS: if anyone need to see a screen shot, ask me on private email address, I
don't think this list allow attachment.
