Go to your Display Properties, appearance, under scheme, click the little arrow at the right. In
that list he has more than likely clicked on High Contrast Black. From there you can select a scheme
you like and click apply. In the scheme you select, under items you can change colors,  fonts, size,
or you can change it in the display above. Click on save when you finish it the way you want.
