Had the same problem; reinstalled the same version (2.6.357) and all's well; sort of. If I temporarily disable it for whatever reason (by just shutting down the app from the taskbar) I find that it takes a cold boot in order to access network again. Also, I find I'm dependent on ZA being loaded in order to access the net ; no I'net when all startup components (Truvector, minilog & ZA) are disabled. Haven't tried tracking this down.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Reinstalling Zone Alarm
My problem of computer becoming inoperable was correctly diagnosed by
this group as attributed to Zone Alarm. Thanks. I followed the
complicated Zone Labs procedure for uninstalling Zone Alarm, and
operation has been restored.
Can I safely reinstall Zone Alarm? If so, should I reinstall latest
version of Zone Alarm, or try to find an earlier version? Problem started
after downloading update for Zone Alarm. Win98, IE5.5.
