: Betreff: [PCSOFT] Outlook Express Problems
:
: Hi All,
: Is the following dial-up networking problem familiar to anyone?
: My backup computer with Windows 3.11 and IE 3.0 with Internet Mail
: appears to work fine, but my main computer with Windows 95B and IE 4.01
: with Outlook Express seems to be burping on me. I am using Dial-UP
: Networking DUN 1.3.
:
: After connection has been made and the modems already have shaken
: hands, I get an assortment of messages from Windows:
:
: 1. "No answer".
: 2. "Error in internal authentication"
: 3. "Disconnected by remote computer"
: 4. "Error in Protocol" (everything checks fine)
:
: After the apparent start of e-mail operations, both send (STMP) and
: receive (POP3), I get "Server has failed to respond in 60 seconds, do you
: wish to wait?", which continues on and on.
:
: Sometimes I get through, but most of the time I have these problems.
: I hope someone has an answer.

oooops. i think, i had quite the same problem, your isp gave you some data
to fix the tcp/ip. my problem now is: i just have the german version
installed, what may cause now some translation-related problems, but try
this:

within ie4
-->ansichten(~views)
-->internetoptionen (~internetoptions, is the last item on the menu)
-->cerbindung(~connection, is the 4th folder of this mask)
-->einstellungen(~options, is the button within the second part of the
mask)
-->eigenschaften(is the second button, close to the
button"Hinzufugen"(=add))
-->servertypen(~servertypes, is the second folder of this mask)
-->tcp/ip button (located almost at the bottom on this mask):
here you should insert the primary and secondary dns-code (second field of
this mask). if you do not know them, you got to ask your isp, they'll give
it to you.

best wishes and a happy new year!
