Hello everyone,
Thanks for your suggestions to solve my problem opening Word.  My beloved
husband solved the problem in a very simple way.  He guessed that somehow I
had changed the settings to minimize Word upon opening it.  So he had me open
Word, right click on it and then change the setting from minimize to
maximize.  That solved the problem!  Very simple, very easy.
