It's not a mind breaker at all. The answer is simply No! The DVD is not the
same format as a CD-Rom. Just for arguments sake, if a DVD disk was playable
on a regular CD-Rom drive, there would be no need for DVD players. Not a
very good marketing scheme. Anyway, you need a DVD player to play a DVD
disk.
