Legally, then, you may be out of luck. You might stumble across some
organization that has one and is replacing 2.0 with a competing
product; IFF their license says it's transferable, you might be able to
purchase it. [Note that if they're upgrading to a newer version of
ACT!, they may be bound by the new license not to transfer the old
one....]
This is an argument for an "Orphan Technology" program, similar in
concept to the government's "Orphan Pharmaceuticals" arrangements.
There's an incredible amount of information in libraries and in
organizations like this where the hardware/software needed to access
the information is no longer available (for whatever reason) from the
original vendor/manufacturer. Some software products have occasionally
migrated to shareware at the end of their commercial life, but they're
the exception, not the rule.
