I am currently working on a frankenstein machine and the OS is 98 ...
the problem is that I have been trying to reinstall much of my burned

burned software. URGGH! I have been told that all I needed to do was
to go to the Windows update site and select some updates and that would
take care of it, but that doesn't seem to be taking care of the
problem. Can you help me? Thanks so much.

Hi,
If the CD's were written using packet writing software (that lets you drag
and drop files like a floppy or hard disk), then you'[ll need to have packet
writing software on the machine you're trying to read them from. (My burner
came with a program called B's CLiP for this job).
