Hello,
Most of your problems are most likely due to the fact that you did not
allow Norton to remove the other anti virus applications, which are
fighting it now, and causing the problem. Anti virus applications
intercept calls to start or open files, and do an on access scan of
them. When you have two anti virus applications running at the same
time, this can cause all kinds of problems, since both programs are
attempting to intercept the system call to open or run a file at the
same time.
Get and use Autoruns from Microsoft and use it to turn off the competing
programs, and then get rid of them.
