Hey folks,

I'm trying to repair an Office 2000 installation on a Win2k box. The
error reported is:

"This application must be installed to run. Please run Setup from the
location where you originally installed the application."

Sounds simple, eh?

But it's not.

I have found several possible solutions. I've heard of problems
regarding the recent .NET Framework update, possible Windows
Installer conflicts, Office 2000 being installed under "Profiles" in
Windows 9x, and, yes, a complete uninstall and reinstall.

Nothing has solved the problem.

Any thoughts on this? I don't want to rebuild the box, but I suppose
if I must then I must.
