Wanda,

It's obvious you're sold on Norton. If it works for you, by all means stay
with it. But it has caused various problems for MANY people that I'm aware
of.

I have used ZoneAlarm, free edition and the professional version, for many
years on 12-15 computers with most of the operating systems and not once has
it been a problem. Some earlier versions of AOL and CompuServe were
incompatible because of their proprietary nature and the way they operate.
The newer versions may work, I don't know.

During setup one of the things ZoneAlarm does is suggest you give Internet
Explorer (or your browser of choice) permission to access the Internet.
Without knowing more about your system and situation at the time, it's
difficult to determine exactly why you couldn't connect.

Zone Alarm caused me more problems than Norton EVER has. It wouldn't
even let me connect to the internet! Norton has never caused me a
problem & I have used it for years.
