Ian,

Until I learned exactly what you were trying to do, was the time when I
understood your point. Yes, we were scrambling to do the same thing about
3-4 weeks ago when we tried to reach our customers to warn them about the
"Sobig" pest. My wife created 3 group lists in OE called "eS Customers",
"eS Users Group" and "eS Community". Each group with approx. 30 names
each. The messages sent however, lacked personal touch since they were all
sent in one whole big blob of warnings for the 'Sobig' bug! There's gotta
be a better way, I thought.

If you come up with a way, a program or email prog manipulation on how to
personalize such messages to customers, I hope you can share it with me.
(This subject reminds me of my dBase IV era!) Well, maybe someone out
there has already done this and maybe, that 'someone' can share with us the
solution? idea?

Thanks!
Emie DelRosario

ps- You have been talking this previous weeks about a virus/worm much
bigger/badder and worse than "Sobig", did you mean "Swen"?

Emie DelRosario

Subject: [PCSOFT] Sending Outlook Express mail to a group - how about this?

Thanks Emie. All this discussion about one of my customer's BCC-type
sending issue has got me thinking that maybe I should be setting up a group
emailing system myself.

Then I could contact ALL my customers in one hit when I want to provide them
with information like a warning about this latest Virus silliness.

Presumably I'll have to send something like, 'Dear Computer Guys customer',
or 'Hi Folks', but is it possible to set up a group list in such a way that
each recipient gets a message headed up with their own name?

I mean like, 'Hi Mike,.........' or 'Hi Harriet,........" etc etc, with a
common message following?
