I also only have the original Wsock.dll version 4.00.1111.  Unlike Rick, I
have a totally unpatched W95B which has served me exceedingly well over 5
years (never reformatted).  I think it's one of the latest versions to come
out.  I am very nervous about patching or upgrading anything which appears
to be working well.

What am I missing by not having Winsock 2? I have a 56K hardware modem. My
internet connections seem very reliable and downloads are usually fast for 56K.
