I have a HP tape drive in my computer with it's bundled software. I want to
back up to floppy on occasion, so I want to use MS Backup that is included
with Windows95 (since the HP program does not have this option).
Unfortunately, every time I try to use the program, I get "serious error in
Tape Manager" just as backup begins. I have deleted MS Backup and
reinstalled, deleted the swap file (something from the MS Knowledge base).
Still no go... it makes no difference what media (tape or floppy or HD) that
I try to backup to, I still get the same error. This message is not in the
MS Knowledge base that I have found. A net search brought up someone who
cured the exact problem with a total reinstall of windows leaving the tape
drive disconnected, and reconnecting it before installing the HP program.

Any hints, clues, etc. very appreciated.
