Mpeg files are not usually recognised by older or more basic domestic DVD
players. They are not "native" DVD format files---these are usually seen as
.vob files and usually have to be burned in a structured form to be
readable by domestic players.
Some burning software such as the full version of Nero can, I think,
convert mpegs to a DVD structure, though this may not apply to the basic
free software that usually comes with your burner. I must admit, however,
that I've never met with success when I've tried to do this, it's really
not at all intuitive, as you are faced with so many options, few of which
make much sense unless you have an IQ above 180, passed an IT degree at
Yale with Honours, and have spent the last 10 years burning DVD's. Maybe
reading the helpfiles would help. Or asking any 8-year-old kid.
You may have to search Google and see if you can find any freeware to carry
out this conversion---most conversion software costs. A search for "mpeg to
dvd conversion" will give you around 7.5 million hits. Good luck.
You could try the LG website to see if they have any upgrades available for
your model, though it's a long shot.
