Nero doesn't work on XP, or rather it does, and takes over. It shut down everything I had (CD, DVD, Floppy) internal and external leaving ONLY the Nero-driven unit & nothing would restore it so I finally had to go to the restore point. I kept the unit just cuz I'm an inveterate optimist & I'm SURE someone will use it successfully. But I will never try again to install it on any computer I own. Ann

the box clearly states (in four languages) that the unit is compatible with
98SE (my OS). The drive plays my CDs well, but cannot do much of anything
else since the NERO software works only with Windows 2000 and later OS. Is
there any way I can get this to work? I attempted to contact NERO but found
out that in order to get information about whether they have drivers to make
the software work for 98 SE I'd have to lay out nearly $30.00 to become a
member. At this point , I am inclined to take the drive back to the retailer
since it doesn't do anything more than the CD-ROM I replaced. Has anyone had
this problem before and been able to solve it (other than buying XP?) ?

Thanks.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,
people will become accustomed to believing it.

See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things
over and over and over again for the truth to sink in,
to kind of catapult the propaganda.

One of the saddest lessons of history is this:

If we have been bamboozled long enough,
We tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
We're no longer interested in finding out the truth.
The Bamboozle has captured us,
It's simply to painful to acknowledge,
Even to ourselves,
That we have been so credulous.
