I believe a couple months ago I read from the List, of someone addressing a
mysterious checked box in the Start-up file (going thru msconfig). The box
had no entry or any information at all. It was by itself, yet checked to
run during start-up. I encountered the same scenario today and just
couldn't make sense out of it. Tried deleting it or unchecking it only to
pop right back up after a reboot. I checked the root directory, start up
directory and couldn't find any mysterious file. Not even a . (dot) file.
So, what is it? Anyone? How can I find out? How can I get rid of it?
[Note: NAV and PCcillin gave the system a clean bill of health. (Assuming
I trust them both!) In other words, 2 AV programs did not find any
viruses/worms/bugs/pests/bacterias, *&#*!!o0o on the system.]

AMD Athlon 1.33 GHz running WinMe, 512MB mem with a 40 Gig HD, etc.

TIA
Emie DelRosario
