Dear GC:  That is an astronomically low price for MS Office.  However, there
are OEM versions of the program for sale to system builders through multiple
middlemen dealers for prices in that area (although the low ones I've seen
are about double that).  What you really need to be careful about is
Microsofts licensure.  It may only provide support for the product when
purchased preinstalled on a new machine and THEN, your warranty may not be
with Microsoft, but the builder/marketer of that new computer.  For
instance, if Compaq sells MS Office 97 preinstalled with one of their
computer deals, your support comes from Compaq and not MS. Hope this helps.
