You have the option of specifying what type of files you want to clean and
it depends upon your setup. I don't clean cookies because I have enough
other protections to prevent "bad" cookies. The good ones save time by
saving useful information for sites being revisited rather than having to
reenter the information. I do clean temporary Internet files because I have
a broadband connection and reloading files is very quick. If I had a dialup,
I would not clean those files. I do limit the size of the file cache so that
it does not slow down the computer (quicker to download new files than look
for old files in a large cache) and does not take up an extraordinary amount
of hard drive space. I also do not clean the compressed files only because
I'm not sure under what conditions I might need them and, therefor, can not
factor any risk taking into the decision to clean or not clean them.
Temporary files are supposed to clean themselves via the program that
created them so, if any are left, cleaning them is appropriate. Also deleted
files (recycle bin) are not needed or else you would not have deleted them
(if you deleted a questionable file, you should not clean the bin till you
are sure it is not needed).
Hope this helps.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Disk Cleanup Question
When you run Disk Cleanup and get the question, "Are you sure you want to
delete all these files?" what is the answer? Is there every anything on
Disk Cleanup that needs to be saved?
As always, thank you for your help.
