You are probably talking about the CMOS password. You do this through the
BIOS setup. When your computer boots up you should see a message such as
"Press f2 to enter setup" or "Delete key to enter setup." When you press
that key, it will take you to the BIOS setup screens. Follow the menus. Look
for something like "boot options" or "security."

Does anyone know how I can change the password that starts up the
computer?  I'm not talking about the screen saver password.
