I hate to ask the obvious, but did you finalize your disk? 

One of the easiest ways to make a music disk from your computer files is to
burn a disk with Windows Media Player. 

 
Just make a play list with the songs you wish burn
Once the list is complete right click on it and choose to 'Add to Burn
List'. 
Choose 'Audio CD' as the type of disk if you have a standard CD player,
choose 'Data CD' if you have a MP3/WMA capable player then click on the
start burn button. 


Windows Media Player will automatically format the music and cut of the list
when the disk is full.
