Browser versions and patches.

What is the "lowest" Microsoft browser version that is still totally
supported by MS as far as security holes and patches.

This is a question for/from someone using:
"Win98SE and Earthlink 5.05".
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2919.6600

Can you get the latest MS browser (and e-mail) upgrades and
NOT break the Earthlink installation?

(This question does not include MS01-059, which would
be a very special case.)
