===============
A few years back I got some programs from

TOMMY'S TOYS, BOX 11261, DENVER, CO 80211 USA

Included on the disk was a file called READFILE.COM. It will read a text
file and scroll up and down.

If you can get a copy of this program you could use

dir > dirfil.txt
readfile dirfil.txt

which would put the directory readout in a file and read it with scrolling.

you could add

del dirfil.txt

to get rid of the file once you have read it.

Another solution is

dir > prn

which puts the directory on paper so you can read it anytime, anywhere.
