I would see what happens between now and then.
You have the live update feature, so if it is a bug - they
can fix it. At the very worse, when the expiration rolls around,
it should only be around $4 for the definitions only for a store
bought copy of the program. . (Mine is from MSW2001Pro
and I still have, so don't count on that price. OEM versions
are MUCH more expensive to "subscribe" to for the definitions.
You can decide to fight them for the $4 at that time if you have
the proper documentation.
The "bad" thing about constant live updates is that they can then
allow situations like this to happen and worry about them later.
Note that I very recently downloaded live-updater ver 1.7
