What you are referring to is call "Print to a file." This saves the
document to a file rather than printing it when you select the configured
printer port. In order to save anything all you have to do is use the save
feature in a program. But what if the program doesn't have a save button,
only a print button?

What you need to do to "print to a file" is to configure a port like this
(name the port thus): "A file name, such as C:\Dir\Filename. All jobs sent
to this port are written to the named file, and each new job overwrites the
last one." (From the XP Help files.)
