Using standard Windows key strokes, you can move the dialog box
to a position where you can click the OK button. HIt alt+space
bar to activate the Window controls, then 'm' for move. Use the
cursor arrows to move the dialog box up until you can see the OK
button and you should be able to save your changes.

This probably means she has sufficient memory on her video card
(or system if it's integrated on the MB) to run higher display
resolutions only if the color depth is 16 bit.  It's one of the
video trade-offs with borderline memory.  I suspect she only has
2 MB or less of video memory.  I have a machine at work with 4 MB
(what I would consider "entry level" nowadays) which will--like
yours--run True Color 24 bit at 800 X 600, but I doubt that's the
case at 1024 X 768.  Good luck and hope this helped.
