I would just use a good database program. I use Access For Windows95 for just what you are describing you need. This particular program has somewhat of a learning curve, but you can make it just about as simple as it gets, or as advanced as you want to go.
With some minimum reading you can arrange your form topic's so you can get fairly close on a subject and then just scan through the records it brought up on that subject for the specific article you want. It probably may have a word search feature in, but I only got into it far enough to suit my needs. I'm sure in a Computer software discussion list there are other people out there with their own version of what will do the job for you. There may be some software programs out that have the database with a user interface set up for what you are needing. I don't know of any...but that isn't saying much. Good Luck
