Basically make sure he has the lastest JAVA VM updates from Microsoft
installed , sounds like he got hit with a malicious javascript . Depending
on the script a clean reload will be necessary .

Subject: [PCSOFT] Malicious chat room experience
My son just had a real bad experience in a chat room. Someone told him he
was going to crash his computer, did it and now he can't reboot. Will
recovery require a reformat and clean install? He uses W98 on a HP running
McAfee Antivirus. Is there anyway to protect oneself from these attacks
other than not participating in chat rooms?
