HD stands for Hard drive - A separate physical unit.
Just because a drive letter is assigned to a partition doesn't make it a 
Hard Drive.
If you create 4 partitions on a Hard Drive, you don't all of a sudden have 4 
Hard Drives .

This kind of misnomer is akin to calling a computer a CPU, where in fact the 
CPU is the Central Processor
on the Motherboard. It seems that old habits are hard to break and are still 
prevalent in many areas.

Strictly personal opinion.
There are advantages and disadvantages to any method, whether it is using 
folders or partitions.

That's all I'm going to say about this.

Are you Sure? Proper types of partitions will have different HD letters.
This seems correct as stated latter (I did not read it close) because
partitions are a bad idea...
