Anybody really serious about vira should maybe read the following recent
quote from John C. Dvorak of PC Magazine/ZD-net:
>snip
The only virus checker I recommend is the Russian-developed
AVP (AntiViral Toolkit Pro) from Central Command, available at
http://www.avp.com. These guys have daily updates and have managed to find
things on my system that no other product has seen. Don't be fooled by
products that promise "quick and speedy" scanning. I want something
like this to be slow and thorough. AVP features a deep search
capability (it takes all night) that's phenomenal. The major media
never mention this product (no PR, no ad budget) so it remains unknown
to the public at large. On the Web site, you'll find an explanation of
this latest virus, which it calls the "I-Worm.ZippedFiles" virus.
There's also a discussion of a Chernobyl variant called Emperor that
is worth reading as well as a discussion of Microsoft Office 2000
protection.

I don't have any personal experience with AVP, but a Polish friend of mine
swears to it. He says the developers are from the KGB and very paranoid.
