Pam,

Registry Medic and Incredimail are both programs that install spyware on
your computer.

Some programs don't have good uninstallers and leave behind some traces of
the program. Also some traces may be left in the registry and that could be
spyware, information gathering routines. So have a good spyware cleaner and
registry cleaner. The icons can be manually removed by deleting but you
want to look at where the programs were installed (usually in C:\program
files) and see if there is any executable files left behind (usually of the
form *.exe, *.com, etc. - see below). If your uninstaller won't remove
those files then remove them manually by deleting, plus remove the program
folder by deleting. Use your registry cleaner to clean any traces of the
program.

I use a freeware program to uninstall called Everest Home Edition. It's
main purpose is to display your computer information but is has a good
uninstaller. You can get it here: http://www.lavalys.com/
Have a good Spyware cleaner like: SpySweeper, http://www.webroot.com/
(costs $$$)
To clean your registry try Registry Mechanic:
http://www.winguides.com/regmech/ (costs $$$)
(If you do a google search you may find some freeware Spyware and Registry
programs out there but they won't probably be as good as the two above.)

Below is a more complete list of executable file extensions. Any of these
could contain viruses, trojan horses, or spyware: (the asterisk at the
beginning indicates the name of the program and a star at the end of the
extension indicates any applicable letter) Other non-executable file
extensions can't cause any problems so can be safely left on your computer.
