IIRC, (and unless things have changed), an XP
screen saver needs to be "invoked" by the OS
to be fully functional...

There are security concerns if a screen saver
(in XP) is run as a normal program. (It does not
have the same security features when run that way...)

I see from an earlier message you use XP.
(I hope your friend does.)
