I think the experts will need a lot more info.  It sounds like the shell of 
the files are being copied, but not the contents.

1. What method are you using to copy? Try some other methods. Can you for 
example burn the files to CD, then copy them off the CD direct to the 
network? That may help isolate the cause of the problem and would rule out 
5 below.

2. What type of files?

3. Does this happen to all files types, eg .txt or .jpg files, or just some?

4. Has it been OK previously, or always been this way?

5. Is there any security software, firewall or router that might block 
transfers of certain files between networks?

6. Which OS?
