Ben, Thanks so very much. Your gentle PUSH provided just the little bit of
further confidence I needed. I edited the Registry to add the missing
"bits" and OE 5 can now check my spelling!

Actually, I have been mulling the spell checker problem for some time. A
friend of mine has Office 95 as well and he recently upgraded from Win3.x
to the Second Edition of Win 98. The identical error message occurs on his
machine. Now I can be the hero and fix his too!
