TOPIC: IDENTIFYING COMPRESSED PROGRAM FILES

Here's what I do when I forget who's who in the zoo. I extract the file
(into its own folder) - then I run the setup. Once the program has
revealed who it is, I abort the installation. Then, I rename the
directory that I extracted the file into w/ the appropriate name.

To avoid this problem, I've made it a habit to keep a folder called
"Archived" into which I store compressed programs. I also place each
compressed program into its own folder w/in "Archived". This is
convenient because I can also put any related files such as a pdf file
on the program or necessary dll, etc. I also sometimes (not as often as
I should) put a text file in the folder noting where I got the program
from and any other pertinant info. that might be valuable in the future
- e.g. registration key, etc.
