Dear Listers,
My very favorite game is Cracker! It is free and once upon a time was available without encumbrances, i.e., spyware connections. Lately I have had to download it several times because I keep getting an error message (Run-time error 339). Specifically it says: "FLEXACTV.DLL or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." When you download you have to register and provide lots of info, the usual sort of stuff. Does this error mean I am not forthcoming with all the info so they can spam me at will? Does this then cause the software to disable itself because I didn't fill in all the blanks?
I did a Google on flexactv and one link I clicked on listed this dll along with 4 others and associated them with Timesink (spyware) and gave directions for uninstalling the dll's and Timesink and so forth. This was not good news to me because I want no part of Timesink; I've had it in the past and finally got rid of it plus I use AdAware. Now my main question. Does anyone know of a link where I could find an earlier version of Cracker!, prior to its linkup with Timesink? It really is a fun game and easy to play.
TIA
Mike Williams
