You say you got the text file from a friend's website? It is possible the
file itself is corrupt or did not download correctly. You could try to
download it again.
What extension does the file have? .txt or .doc or .rtf .pdf? or something
else?
What is the exact 'error' message when you try to open the file?
Post back with answers to the above questions, perhaps we have missed
something.
