Just to add my 2 cents to this conversation. I have seen from my friend using
one of my computers to chat and play cards on Pogo.com that Norton Anti Virus
caught someone sending an infected .exe file to him. Norton quarantined the
file and it identified the virus. The file never infected the computer. My
friend only had the two Netscape windows open that Pogo uses to play games
with. I contacted Pogo about the Norton find and they said their java script
could not transmit problems. So if that is true then the problem could be
that someone found my dialup connection and tried to give the virus. I did
not have a firewall then. I never did resolve where the virus file came from.
Don't know enough about how all that works to figure it out.
