It's becoming a real pain when software tries to foist on you stuff you
don't want. Seems to me Yahoo is becoming like AOL--far too intrusive and
virus-like for my liking.
I won't have a bar of anything that tries to force me into stuff I don't
want. Tried to download the latest Macromedia Flash player the other
day---but that also seems to have several unacceptable tags attached--so
I'm now Flashless. Good riddance I say.
These guys are shooting themselves in the foot---but I guess they have to
make a living somehow. Perhaps we've all been too spoiled by too much
freeware for too long. Looks like the time of reckoning is now approaching.

Many of these programs are now nothing less than spyware--ie they have
hidden files which don't remove when you uninstall, and may be
self-replicating. If you remove them manually, there is a hidden file which
self-replicates at bootup. You should be able to remove it by deleting
anything you don't recognise in the various startup locations--either via
Msconfig (don't forget to check the Autoexec.bat and Win.ini tabs, where
these things sometimes hide) or by using a better startup manager such as
Autoruns. www.sysinternals.com
