Tressie,
Did your Compaq by any chance come with another McAfee program called
Uninstaller...probably version 6 or later by now? It was a stand alone
uninstaller before Computer associates (parent of McAfee) bought it, and
made it part of the McAfee Office.
If so, use that to uninstall your McAfee Anti Virus program. Make sure
the
McAfee AV is not running when you try to uninstall it.
If you do not have Uninstaller loaded on your Compaq, you will need to
visit Compaq's web site, and look for a solution in the support section
under(FAQ) or Freq. Asked Questions or anywhere in the support section for
your model range.
Good luck, and hope that helps.
Regards,
David
