When I had trouble installing FIREFOX (I still do ) someone suggested an alternate web browser  named "OPERA" which did a LOT of damage to my computer. All my add-ons  say "enabled" but IE says the opposite, "disabled". The worst part is a file disappeared from the defragment process!  
 
"MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfrg.msc "
 
Will repair work using my XPpro CD?? Do I have to strip my "C" drive & start over?
 
Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance, Al Smith
